Commerce Faculty started functioning in 1968, the year in which our college is established. Introducing preuniversity course ,Shri G.G.Sarda was appointed as faculty head. where as our college  was a multi faculty college with newly appointed teachers.

As workload was increased two more lecturers were appointed on 15th June 1969 Mr.P.S.Deshmunkh worked as head from 1969 to 1997.Mr.M.G.Soundale worked from 1969 to 2003.Mr.S.J.Giram appointed in 1974 .Mr.S.J.Giram worked as Head of Business Economics department under the management science. During his work period his academic growth was M.Phil. Ph.D. ,Grahak Yatri award by Akhil Bhartiy Grahak Panchayat ,Delhi in the year 1999 for his consumer awareness work. He was research guide for Dr,B.A.M.U. Aurangabad and Y.C.M.O.U.Nasik.He published seven research papers  and attended six seminars and workshops.Under his guidance  three students awarded M.Phil degree.

In 2009 Miss Gaya Nagarao M.was appointed as assistant professor .In July 2010  Dr.S.J.Giram was retired and  Miss.Gaya Nagarao M.promoted as Head of Department.
Due to our consistent efforts, the strength of students started increasing year by year. At present, we offer English media for B.Com. students. Students of department participated in commerce organisatiojn  in seminars and co-curricular activities  organized by college. Department arranges commerce remedial coaching classes.
From the academic1999-2000 year we have started two years full time P.G. course in commerce.

Objectives

  • To promote commerce and management education in semi-urban and rural areas. 
  • To impart commerce and management education to develop professional skills among the students.
  • To develop entrepreneurship qualities among the students to make them self reliant.
  • To make the students competitive enough to face international challenges of the global era.
  • To encourage students for competitive examinations like UPSC, MPSC, Banking, Insurance, etc.
  • To prepare students for professional education like CA,ICWA,CS,MBA,etc.
  • To inculcate moral, cultural & social values amongst the students.
  • To develop leadership and managerial qualities amongst the students. 
  • To make the students responsible citizens.
  • To develop the spirit of national integration.
