1. About Geography Department
The Department of Geography has been started with the establishment of Vaidyanath College in 1968. At the primary stage, Prof. D. S. Khire served this department as a Head. Next, Mr. V. S. Burkul, Mr. S. S. Munde, Mr. B. S. Wagmare and Mr. N. V. Mule served as Professors. At present, Dr. V. L. Phad is serving as Head of Department & Mr. S. B. Rankhambe and Mr. A. M. Nagargoje (CHB) are assistant Professors in the department. Professor D. S. Khire and Professor S. S. Munde have been worked as I/C Principal of our institution. Professor D. S. Khire has been worked as IQAC Cordinator in our College. Department successfully runs UG program. The department has an adequate learning facility such as weather report equipment, models on rrigation system, land and its distribution as per geographical conditions, climate, rivers etc. The department of Geography celebrates Air pollution and world environment days. The special
guidance is provided to the students on solar and lunar eclipses. The research papers are published in the various national and international journals. Organized programmes on irrigation system in Marathwada region, rain water harvesting, and weather day.

2. Objectives
1) To guide the students about air pollution with special reference to Thermal power station & Cement factory of Parli-V.
2) To make people aware about environment and to undertake community-oriented activities such as soil & water conservation and tree plantation.
3) To study the pattern of changing land use in drought affected area like Marathwada.
4) To extend the guidance and to promote the entrepreneurship.
5) To improve the knowledge & understanding of students about competitive examinations, such as SET NET, MPSC & UPSC etc
