DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
Department of Chemistry is an old and big department of the College with six faculty members. In the beginning, Prof. V. R. Renukdas become the head of Department and retired in 1999. Dr. P. N. Gore worked as head of the department during the years 1999-2005. After the retirement of Dr. P. N. Gore, Prof. G. V.
Shelke worked as head of the department during the years 2005 -2009. Department runs UG, PG and PhD programs very successfully & maintained excellent academic standard. There are around 350 enrolments to the UG and PG courses for the academic year 2025-26. The department has an adequate infrastructure with internet facility. The laboratories are furnished with useful equipments. The department provides research facility to the UG, PG and PhD students of Chemistry as university recognized research center is available. FT-IR (Bruker Made) equipment-based analysis and characterization facility is available at the department. At present, there are two research guides at the department namely Dr. B. V. Kendre and Dr. M. G. Landge. Research papers of faculty members are published in the reputed national and international level journals. An international book entitled “Design, synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of some hetero
molecules” was published by Lambert Book Publishing Academy, Germany in 2018-19. Besides, an Indian patent entitled “Chromone- fused1,3,4- thiadiazolesandsynthesisthereof”hasbeengranted.One faculty member participated in “Drug Discovery Program” launched by Govt. of India in the year 2020-21. Faculty members have applied for the research grant but stillnot received. Dr.Kendre has worked as reviewer for SERB, India. In the last five years, department has organized national conferences on IPR. The department has conducted many students’ centric activities for the holistic development of students. The department provides a few numbers of extension services to the society in terms of swacchata, tree plantation, rain water harvesting, and religious awareness. Professor Dr. A. W. Vadal has been awarded with Ph.D.
and received international patent.

The department strives to maintain mutual understanding among the faculty members for healthy working environment. Department consistently organizes programs on the occasion of Birth anniversaries of national leaders. The department celebrates World Environmental Day, Science Day, Energy Conservation Day and Teachers Day every year. The department has good record of students counseling and placement. The department set up linkages with Krushi Vigyan Kendra Ambajogai, Cement factory, Parli-Vaijnath and School ofChemical Sciences SRTM University, Nanded.
