Department of Computer Science

Today, computers and associated technology are an essential component of daily life. Computers are utilized extensively in almost every industry, including banking, retail, railroad reservations, and a number of others including the auto, medical, hospital, and government sectors. The Department of Computer Science was founded by Jawahar Education Society’s Vaidyanath College to keep up with emerging technology.

Before starting separate department college started some courses entitled ‘Certificate course in computer operation’ run by Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Examinations, Bombay. The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 2000 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science and strives to shape outstanding computer professionals. The Department has modern facilities for teaching, learning.

In 2000-2001 college started computer science as optional subject to B.Sc. Mr. H.K. Karad was appointed as Lecturer in the department. Dr.S.J.Giram from Management faculty appointed as Head of the department .In 2002 Mr.S.M.Dabhikar was appointed as lecturer. In 2003 Mr. V.V. Munde appointed as lecturer in the department. In 2007 College started the

B.C.A. course jointly with Commerce and Management Science Department. In 2010 Mr.

A.A. Munde appointed as lecturer. After the retirement of Dr.S.J.GiramMiss.GayaNagarao became Head of the department. In 2009 College started Computer science subject to junior College. .Mr. S.M. Dabhikar became Head of the Department in 2013. Department was run on self-finance basis. In 2022 Dr. V.V. Munde became Head ofthe Department.

Admission BCA

BCA – 60 students

Duration – BCA 3years with Six Semester duration

Eligibility Criteria: –

1. Candidate should have passed 10 + 2 examination from any stream i.e. Arts, Science, Commerce, Vocational with eligibility as per the Admission Policy of the Affiliating
2. Valid score of MAH-BCA-CET- yearly conducted by the competent Admission to the BCA program will be on the basis of an Entrance Examination MAH-BCA-CET-2025.
3. For Girls students Saraswati Scholarship is available from AICTE and other students Scholarship as per Maharashtra government
4. Reservations are often provided for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
